Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where should I park?

A: We have a large parking lot on our campus, with entrances and exits off of both Chesterfield Street and Barnwell Avenue. We also have a small lot off of York Street directly across from the Sanctuary.

Q. Where do I enter?

A. Most folks enter through the front doors of the Sanctuary (facing York Street) or from the side doors off the parking lot. There are greeters at each of these doors to welcome you and answer any of your questions.

Q. What should I wear when I visit?

A. There is not a dress code for members or guests. Many in our church family dress “business casual”; however, our main goal is for you to feel comfortable and welcome.

Q: How do you recognize visitors?

A: You will not be singled out, nor will you be asked to stand and be recognized as a visitor. We would appreciate it if you would complete a guest form that is attached to the printed order of worship and then place it in the offering plate as it is passed.

Q. Is there a nursery available?

A. Yes. We have child care volunteers who teach and care for our infants and preschoolers. Our nursery is located in the rear of the main building behind the sanctuary. Four-year-olds and older are invited to join us for worship in the Sanctuary. Four- and five-year-olds can leave the Sanctuary for Children’s Church after the Children’s Message.

Q. Do I have to be Baptist to attend your worship services?

A. No. As a matter of fact, many people who attend Aiken’s First Baptist Church come from different faith traditions.

Q: I have other questions. How can I get the answers?

A: If there's something we missed on this list, just give us a call (803.648.5476), or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you're new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it's been a long time since you've attended church at all, we hope your first visit at Aiken’s First Baptist Church will be a great one! We hope you'll feel right at home from the very first moment you step onto our beautiful campus! Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!
